Join us at Great Yarmouth Town Hall for a fascinating talk with Great Yarmouth Heritage Guides.
From 1644 to 1647, Matthew Hopkins brought terror across East Anglia by seeking out those accused of witchcraft. In 1645 he came to Great Yarmouth where 11 people were accused and five were executed. In this talk, learn all about Hopkins himself, how he came to be self professed Witchfinder general, and the trials here in the town that he was an integral part of. Discover how the Salem witch trials has roots within Great Yarmouth, and what would lead you to being accused of the crime of witchcraft.
