Explore Great Yarmouth
The borough of Great Yarmouth stretches for 15 miles along the coast and up to 9 miles inland, encompassing some beautiful Norfolk countryside. The hustle and bustle of Great Yarmouth seafront and town centre is offset by the small villages, towns and hamlets that can be found in the area immediately surrounding one of the UK's most popular seaside resorts.
All along the coastline and a little way inland, our towns and villages hug the wide sandy beaches and our beautiful broads countryside , perfect for lazing away on a summer's day or for a brisk stroll in winter.
Just to the south, the popular seaside town of Gorleston-on-Sea with stunning cliff top views, wide esplanade, and a beautiful sandy bay is a firm favourite with families, locals and visitors.
Just to the north, you'll find Caister-on-Sea and the seaside resort of Hemsby. Caister-on-Sea has a wide, sandy beach with dunes and a wide selection of acommodation options to choose from. Hemsby is packed with accommodation and attractions and a welcoming, laid back pub just where the village ends and the sandy beach starts.
Hopton-on-Sea, Scratby and California also have a great range of accommodation and access to great stretches of beach.
One of the smaller seaside villages is Winterton-on-Sea, just next to a nature reserve which is famous for Little Terns on an often almost deserted beach.
