Thurne near Great Yarmouth is a small village and beauty spot to the north west of the Borough at the confluence of the River Bure and the River Thurne.The village is located at the end of a dyke beside the famous white painted tower Thurne Drainage mill built in 1920 (open days in Summer and on National Mills Open Weekend in May). The village has a few small shops and a pub. There are many local paths offering good walks including "The Weavers Way".
There is a bike hire centre in the next door village of Clippesby.
